I miss running.  Doc said I need to wait until this weekend, minimum.  At this point, I am definitely not up to it.  My throat still hurts terribly.  Therefore, I couldn't breathe.  I'm going a bit stir crazy.  I would like to fully heal though, so I am trying to be patient.

Did first form of exercise in about 3 weeks tonight.  YOGA!  It felt great!  I took it easy on some of the plank stuff simply because I didn't want to start sweating.  The hour long class was terrific.

I hope to be back to the old KP (sans tonsils) very soon!

I RAN!  I RAN!  I RAN!

First time since October 16th!  It was glorious.  3 miles with my friends.  They've gotten faster in my time off!  I made it my goal to keep up with them.  I was determined not to walk, and I didn't!  That was very exciting.  Hopefully I haven't lost as much fitness as I thought.  It was slow but steady.  The weather was 55 p-e-r-f-e-c-t degrees; skirt, ss shirt, and gloves (which I'm glad I decided to put on at the last minute!) for me.

Out and about around Tuscaloosa.  Ran around the stadium; rubbed The Bear's foot for good luck; had an old man tell me I was pretty; laughed at the tailgaters already drinking at 9AM; got thirsty and was tempted to ask for a beer; cut the run short due to chronic dry mouth syndrome... I forgot my gum!

Weather was p-e-r-f-e-c-t.  What a beautiful day!

Ran the Jingle Bell Run 5k with Nana.  I have NEVER in my life met someone who can walk as fast as her.  It is unreal.  She'll jog for a minute or two (which I love; nice and slow) and then she'll walk for a few minutes.  I can not physically walk that fast.  I would try my hardest to keep up with her and she would slowly pull ahead of me until she started running again... then I would catch up.  We finished in about 37 minutes (we started late  - bathroom break - so our official time was like 40 something).  She finished first in her age group at ripe young age of 72.

This was a special race day for me, as a friend of mine that was in a horrific bike accident last year (they expected him to be paralyzed for the rest of his life), walked/shuffled the entire 3.1.  He was an avid ultrarunner prior to his accident.  I know he misses it more than you could ever imagine.  I was SO proud of him.  At this race last year, we were all excited that he was able to move his wheelchair up and down the hall with his feet when he spent several months in a spinal cord injury hospital in Atlanta.  I have never met someone with a more positive attitude.  He truly inspires me.

good run.

good company.

good weather.

good conversation.

good route.

good night.

Just going out for an easy run, and it turned out to be faster than I expected; average pace of 9:59!  I'm pretty pumped about that.  My legs were burning, but it felt good to kinda push myself for the first time since being sick/having surgery.

Splits:  10:33, 10:02, 9:28, 9:44 (.30).  First time I've ever progressively gotten faster too (except for at the end... had to cross traffic on busy Bob Wallace Ave).

I hope everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving!!!  Enjoy spending time with your families!

Runs like this make you a stronger runner.  That is what I'm going to tell myself anyways.

Rain.  Dark.  Cold.  Headwind.

I miss sunshine.

Truth be told, I enjoyed it in an "I'm miserable" way.

I ran on a very busy road and feel certain that I flashed 98% of Huntsville's residents.  The wind was whipping and my skirt kept flying up.  Thank goodness they have shorts underneath!
