Trails in the "snow" this morning.  Snow for North Alabama on a good day is flurries.  This is what we had.  17 degrees when I got out of my car on the mountain.  My thighs felt like huge, frozen hams for the entire run.  All the water crossings/low parts that had water were frozen.  This was a "fun" challenge for this clumsy girl.  I tripped once, about .5 into the run.  A large tree was across the trail and apparently I didn't lift my leg quite high enough to get over it.  I was graceful though.  We finished out the run climbing "death trail" which was pretty much like death for this novice trail runner.  About a mile long and straight uphill!

Oh, I love your blog already! Another clumsy runner like me who idolizes the ultra runners and aspires to one day be brave enough to try it! Maybe you can teach me to fall gracefully, i am not sure how you pulled that off with frozen ham legs!!

Best of luck to you with your running and school and getting that better job and welcome to the blog! Thanks for volunteering!!!

Do you know the rest of the Alabama crew on the blog, Nevels, Jelmo, Mike, Eric, etc?

Ha. The last time I tripped on a log I ended up face down in the dirt, literally. Anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that I fall a lot and am never graceful. Welcome to the club.

Good luck with your running goals. I'm sure you'll meet every one of them if you'll listen to the people here (not me, I'm a running dummy).

Wow! I can't believe people commented. I just made this as a way to keep up with my miles b/c I don't like plugging my Garmin into the computer. I'm not crazy about it's tracking system... too fancy? I like how simple this is.

I know of some of the Bama guys: Elmore, Schotz. They are friends with some of my buddies. They did Run Across Alabama last summer.

Many of us tracked the Run Across Alabama last year, that was very cool!

Well, we're kinda like family here on the blog. Of course, if you're not actively making comments on other people's blogs, you'll probably be left alone, but usually we always try and welcome the new bloggers. I also like how easy it is to track my workouts here. I recently started tracking them on MapMyRun and Spark People, but it's kind of a hassle.
