Trails!

Last planned run up there for a while. Unfortunately.

Next week my friends and I are starting a much more serious half marathon training schedule. I'll be honest and tell y'all that my goal is to go sub-2. I don't think it will happen, but I'm going to work hard this summer/fall to see how close I can get. I know I'll get there one day, I just don't think it will be right now.

So this morning (Thursday) when I let the dogs out I turned on the hose to water the tomatoes and then went to get in the shower. My plan was to turn the hose off after I got out of the shower, giving them a good 15-20 minute soaking. Well, I FORGOT about them until I was leaving for work! So, that means that I watered them for like an hour! Ahhhhhh. Allie, are they going to die from getting too much water? Another funny thing is that the knob to turn the hose on is behind this rock feature water garden thing that I literally have to crawl up and over to get to it. So, I was doing that in a dress and heels this morning! Goodness I hope the neighbors weren't watching! These stupid tomatoes are going to be the death of me.

Hope everyone has a great day!

hahaha. first you scale the house, then you climb the rock garden in a dress. i bet the neighbors are enjoying the entertainment.

the tomato plants should be fine. they may wilt slightly or the leaves may turn a bit yellow, but giving them an extra long drink one time shouldn't kill them.

I was watching.

you wish Burt!!

I go away for a few weeks and what happens? nothing much has changed, you still live a charmed and ever-exciting life KP!!

Your tomatos will be fine! I grow tomatos every year, and sometimes it rains all of June. They are fine.

Exciting about your 1/2! I believe that you can certainly do a sub 2 hours. Just do a day or two a week where you really push speed, like a tempo run and a fartleck run or something. A little bit of speed training goes a long way! Have fun.

I heard they are having a sale on fresh tomatos at the farm market... although a fresh tomato with some salt and pepper... ahh... You got the under 2hr goal...

Is there such thing as too much water???

You will do great in your half marathon, I think it is totally doable!

I have a really big garden and it always gets the best of me! It definitely brings out the best and WORST of me (when I am putting up pounds and pounds of veggies in the heat of the summer).

You can totally break 2 hours!

We have the same goal! When is your 1/2? Mine is in September and I reaalllly hope i can do it. It sounds ridiculous but i want to do a sub 2 before I get married and change my name. I want to be a sub 2 under MY name...I know, I know ridiculous!

Wow, you never cease to disappoint me with your stories :) I just love that they are SO like me it makes me laugh! I'm just to chicken to blog about mine...most of the time :)

You can totally rock a sub 2 hr 1/2!! I know that with a bit of training and getting your endurance up you could probably even hit closer to a 1:50 - seriously no doubt in my mind! My first 1/2 was 2:09, then 2:01, then I busted through that 2 hr with a 1:48! So, I know you can do it - you've got this!

Oh, and my mom says that tomatoes just get leafy if they consistently get too much water, but I'm sure one day of extra water will just give them a little extra green :)

You'll do great on your first half. It's good to have a goal to work toward and keep you motivated when the training gets tedious.

Thanks for sharing your tomato story. You've got a great sense of humor!

You do have good stories.

Good luck with your 1/2 marathon goal. You can do it.

Work hard towards the goal. :)
