I am alive!  Barely!

Sunday night I started feeling really crappy and I got up and went to work on Monday.  When I arrived my co-worker told me I looked terrible.  Thanks!  I left work at noon because I felt terrible and went to my friend Laura's house to take a nap before we had a kickoff meeting for that 5k program we coach.  I felt more and more like crap.

Tuesday I felt like I had died.  I called in sick and actually went to the doctor.  If you know me, you know how rare this is.  I DO NOT go to the doc.  He did a strep test and told me I tested negative for it.  He thought I was in the beginning stages of it though and if I would come back tomorrow (Wednesday) I would probably test positive.  Since I was a negative, he couldn't give me a shot.  I had a "severe" throat and sinus infection.  He gave me some steroids and some nasty liquid cough medicine.

I went home took the medicine and slept the rest of the day.  I'm still dragging today (Wednesday), but can tell that I'm feeling somewhat better.

Who gets sick in the middle of the summer?  I am so upset.  Argh.  No running this week.  Hopefully I'll get in 6+ miles on Saturday.

:( I'm Sorry you are sick! I'm afraid my little 3 year old has strep or something of the like as well. Getting sick in the middle of summer STINKS!

Take it easy, and recover well. You are smart to not run, especially if it is strep. Because it can turn into rheumatic fever and damage your heart.

If I was closer I'd bring you some soup and popsicles :) Get well soon, we all miss you!!

lol---haha, just read allie's comment as I was about to post. Good thinking! :)

I'm sorry you are feeling like crap! I know the feeling! I had to get dang pneumonia at the beginning of the summer! Crazy time to get these things! I am glad I took the time I needed to recover. Hope you can make it through your recovery time and it won't be long till you're back to yourself! Good luck!

Get better soon and back to your beloved trails!

Don't let any race directors know you are on steriods.

I got pneumonia once in the summer and missed the first week of 8th grade.

Take it easy and don't rush your recovery.

It's so good to have you back!

I'm sorry you got sick. That stinks.

Rest well & take it easy. There'll be plenty of time to run when you're feeling better.
