13.1 group.  Speed work night.  8X400 with 3 minute slow jog recovery in between.

1 mile warmup.

1:59, 2:07, 2:17, 2:24, 2:15, 2:15, 2:15, 1:50

1 mile cool down.

I'm pleased with all of them except #4.  I don't race much at all so when our "coach" was putting together this schedule, she didn't really know what to put for me.  She had a goal of 2:20 down for these which I told her was too slow.  I really thought I would've been faster than this though.  Oh well.  By the way, it was by far the most humid run of my life.  I was literally dripping after our warmup.  Yet, I still drank nothing on the run.  I have issues.

Okay, I believe Burt requested a funny story.  Lets see...  I am taking peanut butter and banana sandwiches for lunch this week (yum!), so on Monday when I went to get in my car, I dropped the bag of ingredients (bread, bananas, peanut butter).  I have some severely bruised bananas on my hands now.  The funny (not really) part was that the jar of peanut butter rolled right in the middle of the underside of my car.  So I was on the ground in a dress trying to reach for it.  NOT PRETTY.  Thank goodness I live in the country and don't have any neighbors that are too close by.

Another one:  Monday at work (same day), I was walking down the hall to wash out my coffee cup and I tripped and fell over my own feet and spilt coffee all over my Lilly dress.  Not happy.  At all.  If my dress wasn't ruined from crawling on the ground, it definitely is from that darn coffee.

You did a FANTASTIC job on those 400's! Speed work can be so intimidating, but you stared it down sista! Way to go!

From RAD on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 10:22:42 from 67.172.229.125

ditto Toby! Those are good 400's! Your finish of 1:50 shows you've got a little more push in you :) Speed work is puke zone stuff, we learn how to push ourselves further and harder than we ever have during those times (that and hills!). So, keep working at it - onward and upward!

I think I need a PB&B for lunch today, but I'll keep the jar in my pantry and avoid wearing a dress :)

Good stuff... speed work. I might try it too. Might want to wear your running shorts at all times.

From Burt on Wed, Aug 18, 2010 at 14:27:44 from 206.19.214.144

LOL! Love it! Maybe you should have moved the car?

Nice speed work! I vote move from the dirty south and come to the cool mnt west. You won't be sorry and running here is FUN!

From flatlander on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 13:21:37 from 198.207.244.102

Hey, good looking run. Sorry about the dress, but I don't even know what a Lilly dress is. Hope it wasn't an expensive one.

From Bonnie on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 14:00:49 from 128.196.228.134

Oh KP, sorry about the dress ... why didn't you post a picture on FB showing it (or you crawling underneath the car?) - you can't only post the good stuff, we need it ALL!

Pretty funny about tripping over your own feet though, I think that is one of the many things that I like about you (because we are similar that way ;-) ). And I LOVE the South (well, somethings).

burt, my mom asked me the same thing. why are you guys so smart?

flat, lilly pulitzer. not cheap. at all. ruined. TEAR.

bonnie, you didn't like my "teacher" look? i know that we dress like twins every day. i have on a black dress today so you obviously do too.

nevs, i think i'll go get my 4th cup for the day. thanks!

From Nevels on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 14:23:08 from 155.74.2.253

4th cup? just getting started....

(bonnie - beware the teacher look...)

From Bonnie on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 14:41:24 from 128.196.228.134

ha ha ha ... KP - I don't come near the teacher look. I actually go for the Title Nine/Patagonia catalog look myself (I believe clothes should be taken straight from the dryer to the hanger and never see dry cleaners or irons ;-)). And, because of my horrible PF I only wear Birkenstocks (but I have a dressy pair -- they are patent "leather"). I can wear boots without causing too much problem, so I guess I don't ONLY wear Birks (but most of the time).

From Lily on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 15:04:35 from 67.199.181.73

Careful KP, pretty soon your man following on the FRB is gonna double once they read about you crawling around in a short dress. Nice :)

From KP on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 16:08:28 from 65.208.22.26

hey now! who said it was short? it was above the knee, but totally work appropriate. i am a conservative dresser, lily!

bonnie, i own more patagonia than you can imagine. i dress up for work but am a slob once i get home. sometimes i slob it up at work too.

From Lily on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 16:09:48 from 67.199.181.73

hmmm okay. But, I am sure the visual I just caused is okay for most right? No harm intended here KP :)

From Brent on Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 22:11:18 from 66.7.127.219

KP - peanut/banana and coffee sandwhich? Tasty, Nice work on the repeats.
