Ran on the mountain today.  This is my absolute favorite loop to run on the roads in town.  Unfortunately, I don't get to run here much.  My group meets here every Thursday, and that is when I normally have school.  I start back next week, so that means I made it only once over my "summer break" that lasted all of 2.5 weeks.

Super duper hot and humid.  My car said 91* when I got out of it at 5:30.  It is cooler on the mountain than it is in town too.  I took it nice and slow and chatted with my friend Laura.  AP - 10:30

Another girl that I run with is leaving for vacation tomorrow.  Guess where she is going?  Salt Lake City!  I'm just a bit jealous!  I want to come to SLC and meet all of y'all!

I got home and decided to cook a Mississippi Mud Pie.  Well, after literally catching the oven on fire, I got things under control and cooked away.  It looks yummy... I haven't had any yet.  I made the mistake of starting something at about 9PM that has to cool for hours when it comes out of the oven before you can do the next step.  Ugh.  I guess it will be a nice Friday treat when I get home from work tomorrow.

Recipe please, if it isn't a family secret?

From The Quiet Pirate on Fri, May 28, 2010 at 10:23:02 from 24.199.205.252

share the recipe...just make sure you tell us what to do to avoid catching the oven on fire.

SLC is in a beautiful place. You should certainly plan on visiting sometime. You'd have lots of places to stay, and Mom might even find some ice cream to celebrate your visit :-)

This mountain of yours sounds like a nice place to run.

i've been craving chocolate lately, (no burt, i'm not pregnant) so when i saw this recipe online i thought i'd give it a try. when i get home from work i'm going to do the ice cream step and then maybe go on a bike ride before i come back home and stuff my face. yum!

Fortunately Utah dropped a former ill-conceived state slogan which was "Utah a pretty great state."

I think you should come and bake a pie for me :) Pregnant women LOVE to eat - you may need to bake 2 if anyone else wants any!

Nice run, I'm glad you got a good run in and that it wasn't the rapist loop! Mountain loop sounds SO much nicer :)

From KP on Fri, May 28, 2010 at 17:03:55 from 65.208.22.26

mountain loop is a 25 minute drive; rapist loop is in my backyard. ha! that makes it sound like i live in a bad area. btw - i even got jonathan calling it "rapist loop" now. too funny!

Try to stay cool in the heat and humidity. Nice 5k!

Nice run. We lived in Houston for 4 years so I can totally remember how draining hot and humid is. Stay hydrated and try to enjoy the morning runs.

MMM I haven't had Mississippi Mud Pie since I was a kid, but I remember it! Grandma used to make it. Hope it was good in the morning!

Yikes, it sounds too hot for running. I hope you enjoyed your Mississippi mud pie, it sounds delicious!
