How does a 4-mile route end up being 3.65?

Hills.  Dang, I hate those things.

I swam 400 meters again this weekend.  Last time I did it in 12:48 and was thrilled.  This time I did it in 11:13.  I can't imagine that I have improved that much.  I was trying to swim a bit harder, but I was still pleasantly surprised at the time.  I love a 1:35 improvement!

Also did about 4 miles on my bike - to the pool, back home for (more) drinks, back to the pool, and back home.

So, I practically did a tri... it was just all broken up.  And, the bike portion was a bit short and at an extremely leisurely pace.

I hope y'all all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend.  I certainly did!  I am positive that I gained no less than 74 lbs from all the food I ate.

So Ms. KP, are you entertaining the thought of doing a TRI?

You're lucky at 74. Felt like I exploded over the weekend. Homemade ice cream, barbaque's, snacks... I say it's all in the name of the USA. Nice Tri btw - I need to try that one.

Agreed...You had a great tri, maybe the perfect one for a holiday weekend. Enjoy the training and congrats on the swim improve.

What a great all day kind of workout! Your cross-training will certainly help conquer the calories.

That's a big reason I like to run: because I love to eat. My favorite quote about food; "This Ain't No Kid's Game!"

Lily - sorry for calling you fat. Hey, you already lost all but one pound of the holiday weight.

I was so torn up over that.My self esteem dropped below radar :P

Funny about the hills. As Tom and I climbed one of our hills this morning he was chanting..."hills are our friends!"

Cool improvement on the swim! Wish I were a better swimmer. If I were I might entertain the thought of a tri someday.

From RAD on Tue, Jul 06, 2010 at 15:15:49 from 67.172.229.125

only 74? I think I win :) after all...This ain't no kids game! :)

Nice work on the swim improvement! It is not easy to get that big of an improvement, especially when you didn't feel like you were pushing too hard. I think you may need to find a tri, and quickly! :)

74 pounds, huh? Stupid holiday! I hate holidays more than I hate hills!

Great job on the new swimming PR.

From KP on Wed, Jul 07, 2010 at 09:30:05 from 65.208.22.25

i'd like to do a sprint tri... maybe. i don't want to embarrass myself and finish last, though. so, i doubt it will ever happen!

the route wasn't too bad except for the last hill. it was killer! why is the steepest and longest hill at the end of the route? i also noticed that we seemed to be going up a lot more than we went down. hmmmmmmmm....

From Lily on Wed, Jul 07, 2010 at 09:33:05 from 67.199.181.73

Hills wahoo!

From Lysa on Wed, Jul 07, 2010 at 11:09:57 from 174.52.15.101

Nice job!! If you can swim, you should try a sprint tri. Its the swimming that I couldn't do
