Great start to the week!

Had 5k training group tonight.  They ran 3 slow miles.  Their first 5k is October 16th... soon!  I'm excited for them.

Before the group, I ran with my buddy, Eric.  It was a slllloooooooowwwww recovery jog for him and the best run of my life for me!  I ran 4 miles at a sub-10 pace; 9:59 to be exact.  I didn't have a goal in mind before we started... just to get in some miles.  We had a killer headwind for most of the run and it was rolling hills.  Temperatures and weather were PERFECT.  Great run!  I was so excited to hold a sub-10 pace for that long.  I've never done that before and was quite happy.  The best part... it seemed easy.  Eric and I chatted the whole time and that 40 minutes flew by.

Have a good week everyone!

no trails for him for a while. he tore something in his foot. muscle, bone, cartilage, ligament? i don't know. his doc said he can do roads as long as he can stand the pain; no trails for the time being though.

you should join them for tuesday track at HHS. 5pm warmup. 5:30 repeats.

DO IT.

that's a rough crowd...

(and since you've seen them, i'll be expecting to see you out there, too, burt, all waxed up and showing off that p90-x body...)

If I go into San Francisco all waxed up, nobody's going to say anything. If I go into Alabama all waxed up, I'd get tarred and feathered.

From RAD on Tue, Oct 05, 2010 at 16:11:38 from 67.172.229.125

Isn't waxing like getting tarred and feathered anyway? I'd think you'd enjoy the 'tune-up' :)

Nice work on keeping those paces KP! You are getting stronger and stronger, I love it when a goal pace seems easy. Makes those long, slow runs a little easier to swallow knowing that at one time it was easy.
