Trails in the "snow" this morning. Snow for North Alabama on a good day is flurries. This is what we had. 17 degrees when I got out of my car on the mountain. My thighs felt like huge, frozen hams for the entire run. All the water crossings/low parts that had water were frozen. This was a "fun" challenge for this clumsy girl. I tripped once, about .5 into the run. A large tree was across the trail and apparently I didn't lift my leg quite high enough to get over it. I was graceful though. We finished out the run climbing "death trail" which was pretty much like death for this novice trail runner. About a mile long and straight uphill! |
